ABOUT US

St John’s is a growing and developing Church which welcomes people of all ages and all backgrounds.  St John’s is a hive of activity with organisations and groups for all ages. We also run events for those who wish to find out more about the Christian faith and courses which enable people to discover, develop and utilise their gifts.

Situated in Moira, a small town approximately 20 miles west of Belfast, St John’s Parish is part of the Diocese of Down and Dromore, one of the 12 dioceses of the Church of Ireland.

Our church family consists of more than 600 families with over 350 worshippers attending our Sunday services. We have 4 church services on Sunday, catering for traditional and contemporary worship styles. The 10.00am contemporary service, with Sunday School and crèche, is held in the Parish Centre.

Parish Mission Statement

Growing closer to God in love and obedience,

Growing closer together in caring and sharing,

Growing closer to others in friendship and witness.

Prayer Points

  • That Christians will grow in maturity, discovering, developing and utilising their gifts in the Lord's service.
  • That we will have a heart for evangelism and outreach and see more people come to faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • That we may be the people God wants us to be, guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Devotional Thought

Build your Church, Lord, Make us strong, Lord,

Join our hearts Lord, through your Son.

Make us one, Lord, in your body,

In the kingdom of your Son.
