A  Logical Approach to Youth Work

Moira, like many areas, has large numbers of young people with little or no connection to church or a youth group who are at real risk of becoming involved in alcohol and substance abuse and antisocial behavior.

With this is mind St. John's developed a plan to provide a safe environment for these young people to meet. This plan subsequently obtained the backing of the local community group, local government and the M.P. for the area, Jeffrey Donaldson.

The LOGIC Café is a drop-in centre for young people aged 12 to 18. It was opened in August 2001and is based in the Old School, Main Street. LOGIC stands for 'Leading Our Generation In Christ’ and ultimately this is what we aim to do.  However, The LOGIC Café also informs young people about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, encourages discussion on emotional, spiritual and physical issues, seeks to combat anti-social behaviour and provides a safe place for young people to have fun and relax.

The LOGIC Café currently opens with AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on Wednesday 4.00-5.30  and DROP IN - Thursday 7.30 - 10pm and Friday 7.30-10.30pm.

MIDNIGHT FOOTBALL - Friday. Meet at LOGIC at 9.20pm
